What are the 3 types of planes?
Sagittal
Frontal
Transverse
What are the three types of axis?
Frontal
Sagittal
Vertical.
What is the frontal axis?
This runs side to side, intersection of frontal and transverse planes.
Saggital axis is……
This goes from the front of your body to the back of your body, intersection of the transverse and sagittal planes.
What is the vertical axis?
This axis runs from top to bottom, it’s an intersection of the frontal and saggital plane.
What is the transerse plane?
This is the plane that divides the body across the middle horizontally. This gives a top and bottom section. Rotation movements would use this plane.
What is the frontal plane?
This is the plane that divides from the top to the bottom vertically, giving a front and back section. Ad/aduction movements would move this plane.
What is the sagittal plane?
The sagittal plane divides the body vertically giving a right and a left side. Flexion and extension movements would occur in this plane.
What plane is a cartwheel an example of?
A cartwheel is an example of a frontal plane.
What is a somersault an example of?
A somersault is an example of the sagittal plane.
What is a trampoline twist an example of?
This is an example of a transervse plane.
