A place where two or more bones meet
What are the four types of joints?
Pivot
Hinge
Ball and socket
Condyloid
What is flexion?
Bending movement that decreases the angle between body parts.

Straightening movement that increases the angle between body parts

What is adduction?
A inward movement towards the body

What is abduction?
A outward movement away from the body.

What is rotation?
Movement around a sungle axis or pivot point.

What is circumdation?
Moving in a circular or concial shape.

Dorsi-flexion
Bending/flexing your toes up.
In your ankle
Plantar-flexion
Poiting or extending the toes downward.

When would an athlete need Flexion?
When doing a bicep curl
When would an athlete need extension?
A swimming would neee this when diving into the pool at the start of a race.
When would an athlete need adduction?
A golfer would need this when he is swinging in towards the ball.
When would an athlete need abduction?
A tennis player reaching outward to return a shot
When would an athlete need rotation?
A tennis player serving
