Cardiovascular fitness Muscular strength Muscular endurance Flexibility Body composition
Cardio vascular fitness
The ability to exercise your whole body for long periods of time
Muscular strength
The amount of force a muscle can exert against a resistance.
Muscular endurance
The ability to use voluntary muscles repeatedly without getting tired.
Flexibility
The range of motion of your joints
Body composition
The percentage of body weight that is muscle, fat or bone

Agility
The ability to change position and control the body at speed. A 100m sprinter wouldn’t need agility but a gymnast doing floor exercises does.
Balance
Being able to keep the body stable while at rest or on the move
What are the two types of balance?
Static (a handstand)
Dynamic (hammer throw - keeping the body stable while on the move)
What is co-ordination
The ability to use two or more body parts together. One type of co-ordination is hand-eye co-ordination.
Power
The ability to undertake strength performance quickly.
What is the formula for power?
Speed x Strength = Power
Reaction time
The time between a stimulus and a movement in response to it.
What is the stimulus in a tennis match?
The stimulus would be the tennis ball
