What do anabolic steroids do?
Increase muscle mass and develop bone growth. Increases strength and allows you to train harder and recover quicker.
Side effects of anabolic steroids
Muscle injury, increased risk of heart attacks and strokes. Causes high blood pressure.
What do beta blockers do?
Cause you to have a slower heart rate. They also have a calming and relaxing effect on your body.
Side effects of beta blockers?
Nausea, diarrhoea, tiredness, deppression and nightmares.
What do narcotics and analgesics do?
Affect mood and behaviour, including drowsiness and releaving pain. Can also elevate the rate of urine production. Altough they allow athletes to carry on without pain, this could cause longer lasting injuries. Can also elevate the rate of urine production
Side effects of narotics and analgesics
Cause loss of co-ordination, balance, concentration and also have emotional effects.
What do diuretics do?
Elevates the rate of urine production
Side effects of diurates?
Dehydration, dizziness, muscle cramps, headaches, and nausea.
What do peptide hormones do?
Increase the rate of maturation of red blood cells. Increase muscle growth, assist in recovery from injury and heavy training sessions, allows the body to carry extra oxygen and disperses of waste products like lactic acid.
Side effects of Peptide hormones?
Blood can become thicker, increased risk of heart attacks and strokes.
What do growth hormones do?
Increase muscle growth and development.
Side effects of growth hormones?
Are none but it can be detected through a blood test.
What are stimulants?
Drugs that have an effect on the central nervous system, increases alertness and can help people overcome tiredness. Reduces the affect of lactic acid on muscles.

They are very addictive
