he conducted a longitudinal research looking at the behaviour of both parents, its quality of relationship of children attachment into their teens. It was found that the quality of attachment for father was less important of the attachment type if teenagers compare to mothers. However, fathers do play a crucial part in the Childs development such as more like play and stimulation and less to do with nurturing.

He found out that father interactions with infants for play are hashers then mums, more rough and trumble play. It’s exciting and pleasurable but it’s more nurturing and affectionate with mothers. Both of them are really important for the development of the child.
what did field found out about the level of responsiveness.
he found out where the fathers were the primary care givers they spent most of the time smiling, imitation and holding the infant compare to the ones who were secondary care givers. Hence, the key to the attachment relation is the level of sensitive responsiveness not the gender of the parent.
what did lamb found out about the level so responsiveness.
he found out that children interact more with their fathers when they are in positive emotional state and with their mothers when they are distress or are in need for comfort and when the father became the sole caregiver they become sensitive for the need and emotional state of the child.
