what is post-event discussion
it occurs when there is more then one witness involved in the event. its a discussion done after the witness had observers the crime which may influence there ideas of what they ahem seen in the event such as a crime.

71% of the pope who had discussion reported the aspects that weren’t even in the video due to the discussion compare to the control group which was 0%.
what did gabbert concluded
that people often get influnced by other because they think that they are wrong and other people are right or due to social approval.
how is a strength of gabbert’s research is that it has high control over extraneous variables.
because Gabbert can be confident that IV ( wheather participants had discussion or no discussion) has affected the DV ( what % had reported the aspect that wasn’t even in the video). which can establish the cause and affect. this is a strengths because the results are unlikely to be facts by the confounding variables. which increases the internal validity of the study.
how is strength is that it has practical application.
because we know tats EWT is not accurate and post-event discussion distort the EWT so therefore police should avoid the witness to have discussion. this is a strength because it has contributed to our legal system and therefor the finding of post-event discussion has made valuable contribution. therefore which will save money and time.
how is limitation is that it has low ecological validity.
because participants we shown a video and asked to have discussion or no which is not a very day task and doesn’t provide a realistic view. This is a limitation because the fishing cant be generalise to everyone in the world therefore such lack external validity.
