A strength of MSM is that its supported by Clive wearing.
because clive wearing STM memory was affected as as he couldn’t distinguish the taste between the food but his LLM wasn’t as he could remember the names of the food. this is a strength because it supports the claim of MSM tats even if one of the store is affecting the other would still work as they have different features. which gives the claim some validity.
a limitation of MSM is that its not fully supported by the Clive wearing study.
because clove he could remember how to play a piano which is a procedural memory but he couldn’t remember he had taken musical education which a episodic memory. This is a limitation because it shows that LTM is not unitary as it’s made up of different components. therefore the claim of MSM lack validity.
another limitation of MSM is that its contradicted by WMM
because WMM starts that STM is not unitary as its made of different components such as central executive, phonological loop, visual spatial sketchpad. This is a limitation because it shows MSM claims aren’t valid which lack validity.
