Prokaryotic Cell CELL STRUCTURE AND TRANSPORT Flashcards
Why is bacteria a prokaryote cell?
The genetic information isn’t stored inside a nucleus. The chromosomes are found free in the cytoplasm. It may contain plasmids. These are code for very specific features.
Sometimes, they have a protective slime capsule.
What is bacteria?
Antibiotic resistance
What is the genetic material like in a prokaryotic cell?
It is strand like in the cytoplasm plasm.
What do prokaryotic cells lack?
Organelles
What type of cell is prokaryotic?
Bacteria.
What is the genetic material like in prokaryotic cells?
It is not included in a nucleus. They are a single loop found free in the cytoplasm.
What are plasmids?
Extra small rings of DNA. They are code for very specific features such as antibiotic resistance.
What is found in the prokaryotic cells?
Cell membrane, slime capsule, cell wall, plasmids, flagella, genetic material and cytoplasm.
