Microscope CELL STRUCTURE AND TRANSPORT Flashcards
How do you calculate magnification?
To find out how many times bigger the microscopic version is than the actual object you multiply the number on the objective lenses by the number on the eye lense.
How do you calculate actual size, magnification and image size?
I
A M
What are the steps for calculating actual size?
Measure the image size using a ruler in mm
Convert Mm into micrometers 1000 micrometers = 1mm
Divide the answer by the magnification
How do light microscopes work?
They use a beam of light to form an image of an object and the best can magnify around 2000 times.
What is resolving power?
It affects how much detail it can show.
What is the resolution?
The ability to distinguish between two superstate points.
