define discrimination
discrimination is a negative behaviour directed towards certain group of people that is caused by an attitude.
define indirect discrimination
indirect discrimination is when there is a policy that applies to everyone but disadvantages a group of people.
define direct discrimination
direct discrimination is when a person or group is treated less favourably based on theri background or personal chsracteristics.

the assumption that people amke that everything happens for a reason and that the worl is fair
intergoup competition
prejudice can arise against peole who are seen as a threat. he chance of prejudice increases when competing groups are of relativly equal status

social influence is learning attitudes from importnat people in our lives
how do you reduce prejudice

it is a theory that suggest that driect contact betwen different social or cultural groups can reduce prejudice.
