the nervous system includes the brain, spinal cord, and a complex level of nerves. This sends messages back and forth between the brain and the body

the central nervous system is the brain and the spinal cord. it receives, processes and responds to sensory information.
define peripheral nervous system
made up of the ganglia outside of the brain and spinal cord that communicates information to the CNS
