Q

Nitro MOA

A
  • Smooth muscle relaxant acting on vascular, uterine, bronchial, and intestinal smooth muscle.
  • Decreases preload – increases workload of heart’s right-side by causing blood pooling in lower extremities.
  • Decreases afterload – arterial vasodilation reduces vascular resistance and decreases myocardial oxygen demand.
  • Coronary artery vasodilation increases blood flow to myocardium.
