Paracetamol = weak inhibitor of COX

Codeine and Dihydrocodeine are weak opioids = agonists of opioid mu receptors

  • Paracetamol = side effects are rare
  • Codeine and dihydrocodeine = nausea, constipation and drowsiness
  • In OD, paracetamol = heptatotoxicity
  • Opioid Toxicity = neurological and respiratory depression
