Q
In the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium equation, which variable do affected males represent for X-linked recessive diseases?
A
q
2
Q
What is the disease incidence represented as in the HW equation for an autosomal dominant disease?
A
2pq because homozygous for the disease would likely die off, so heterozygotes would be the affected ones in a population. This should basically be equal to 2q, because the disease allele will be so heavily favored against in this situation that p will be basically = 1, so 2(1)(q) = 2q.

Q
____ ____ can cause changes in allele frequency in a small population by random chance.
A
Genetic Drift
