clinical syndrome with symptoms, signs & AXR features of LBO but with no identifiable mechanical obstruction

aetiology?
A
often in elderly, or recent surgery

associated features / causes?
A
- severe pulmonary or CV disease
- severe electrolyte disturbance
- malignancy
- systemic infection
- medications: opioids, anticholinergics, amphetamines
