associated with PSC and hence IBD

epidemiology?
A
- 20% of overall liver cancers
- tends to present in over 50 y/o

symptoms?
A
- of painless obstructive jaundice
- dull abdo pain
- wt loss

signs?
A
- abdo mass
- hepatomegaly

tumour marker?
A
CA19-9

Ix?
A
- Liver USS
- CT/MRI to stage
- ERCP to take biopsies / brushings
- tumour marker

Mx?
A
- early disease - potentially cured w surgical resection
- advanced disease- symptom control w ERCP to place stent
resistant to chemo/radiotherapy

prognosis?
A
v poor unless diagnosed early
