Charcot’s triad:
- RUQ pain
- fever
- jaundice

signs?
A
pale stools, dark urine and itching

Ix?
A
Bloods- inflammatory markers raised & picture of obstructive jaundice

Mx?
A
- Conservative
- NBM
- analgesia
- IV fluids
- Abx - cefuroxime & metronidazole
- Surgical to remove stone- ERCP / Percutaneous Transhepatic Cholangiography

prognosis?
A
high mortality rate due to sepsis
