A
- Hyperkalemia
- CHF
- Edema/Sodium retention
- Renal failure (relative, depending on volume status)

LR - Special Information
A
- Contains lactic acid that acts as a buffer
- Monitor patient to prevent circulatory overload
- May use in patients with suspected head injury to maintain cerebral perfusion

A
- Refer to Pediatric Drug Guide
- 20 ml/kg initial bolus in shock; 20 ml/kg/hr maximum maintenance dosage
- Use of Volutrol or similar tubing is recommended
