A
- On the Bronchi (Beta 2) - Bronchodilation
- On the Peripheral Vasculature (Alpha) - Vasoconstriction
- On the heart (Beta 1) - increases HR, increases contractility, increases AV conduction, increases irritability

A
- Pulseless Dysrhythmias: Asystole/PEA/Pulseless VT & VF
* Anaphylaxis - for pt in anaphylaxis extremis (severe HoTN, severe respiratory distress)

A
Pulseless Dysrhythmias - Asystole/PEA/Pulseless VT & VF:
- 1 mg IVP/IO during CPR
- May repeat every 3-5 min durring arrest

Anaphylaxis:
- 0.1 - 0.3 mg slow IVP/IO
- May repeat every 5-15 min prn

- Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT)

A
None in the emergency setting

A
- Assess pt and ECG for desired effect and side effects
- Alkalosis or acidosis may decrease effectiveness of epi
- Flush IV tubing between bicarbonate and epi

- Refer to Pediatric Drug Guide
- For pulseless arrest & Tx of symptomatic bradycardia unresponsive to O2 & ventilation:
- 0.01 mg/kg 1:10,000 (0.1 ml/kg) IV/IO q 3-5 min
- If no IV; 0.1 mg/kg Epi 1:1,000 via ET until IV/IO established
- For ET administration, dilute into 2-3 ml NS
