A
- Contains: 154 mEq sodium/liter and 154 mEq chloride/liter
- Especially useful for heat related emergencies, hypovolemia, freshwater drowning & diabetic ketoacidosis
- Monitor pt to determine if fluid overload is developing

A
- Refer to Pediatric Drug Guide/Current AHA PALS Guidelines/PEPP Guidelines
- 20 ml/kg initial bolus in shock: 20 ml/kg/hr maximum maintenance dosage
- Use of Volutrol or similar tubing is recommended
