What is psoriasis?
Psoriasis is like eczema. It is large, scaly, dry, itchy patches on the skin. Autoimmune.
What is scabies?
Bed bug/parasitic infection. Oral medication needed to treat.
What is SLE?
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. Autoimmune condition where the immune system attacks collagen in the body. This includes skin, joints, organs, etc. Fatal, can kill you. sx’s include inflammation and pain, and can end in death.
What is tinea?
Fungal infection. Ringworm/ Athlete’s foot. If on scalp, it can cause patchy hairloss.
Varicose veins
Spider veins. Swollen/puffy veins in legs. When valves in veins wear out due to aging, causing blood to fall and pool down in the legs.
What is a wart?
A wart is a viral infection usually caused by the papilloma virus.
Albinism
Inherited disorder where there is no melanin. Causes extreme paleness, sensitivity to light in eyes, eye problems, and proneness to sunburn.
What is acne?
Inflammatory disorder of sebaceous glands. Produces bumps on skin.
Alopecia
Hair Loss due to age, illness, or iatrogenic.
Cicatrix
Scar
Cyanosis
Appearance of blue skin due to lack of circulation.
Ecchymosis
Bruise. Ruptured capillaries. Erythema and edema.
Eczema
Autoimmune. Acute or chronic skin lesions.
Gangrene
Dead tissue
Keloid
‘wild’ cicatrix. Darker, raised, and larger.
