Hodgkin’s Lymphoma & Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
Malignant cancer of spleen, liver, bone marrow, and nodes
Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
Malignant cancer of lymphocytes
Mononucleosis (mono)
caused by Epstein Barr virus & results in an increase in atypical monocytes & lymphocytes
Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS)
Caused by HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) which destroys t-cells (WBC). When HIV is activated and starts showing symptoms, it is then called AIDS. Causes very weak immune system due to HIV destroying t-cells. Can stay dormant in body for 2 days - 10 years. Transmitted through blood and bodily fluids.
