Huck then starts to hate his lifestyle because his father would whip him too often and always kept him
locked inside
Huck resolves to find a way to
escape
Huck finds a wood saw and starts cutting through the logs that make up the
cabin
Pap returns and informs Huck that they are putting up the trial because Judge Thatcher didn’t want Pap to have the
money
There is likely to be another trial to allow the widow to have
custody of Huck
Huck’s father complains about the
government
Pap is also incredibly
racist
Pap is hallucinating and chases Huck around with a … threatening to
knife; kill him
