tom and huck go fishing, finding that the raft is
ok
the family is worried but they don’t say anything about the
letter
the boys steal food to take with tthem when they
escape with jim
the butter isn’t there because huck forgot it in the cellar and tom has huck
go get it
aunt sally catches huck coming out of the cellar and asjs huck
what he was doing
huck says nothing and sally states that she will find out what he’s
up to
huck goes to the sitting oom as he is told and it’s filled with
nervous farmers
one of the farmers says that he wants to go find the desperadoes and just
wait for them to come
huck is so nervous and the buttter starts
leaking from his hat
sally thinks huck is sick until the
bread and butter falls out of his hat
sally dismisses it and hugs Huck, saying that he had her
worried
huck returns and tells tom they mujst hurry. tom says that he would wish that there woudl be
more men with guns
jim and huck escape with no issue, but when tom is coming he gets caught on a
splinter
since people were coming closer, tom had to hurry and the splinter
cracked and made noise
one of the men asks who’s there and says that if they don’t answer
he’ll shoot
the men let out the dog, but since the dogs were familiar with Huck, Tom, and Jim, they
don’t attack
tom huck and jim make it to the
canoe and raft safely
tehy get away until the
shouting and barking becomes dim
jim expresses that it was a good idea after huck says that he’s now a
free man again
they’re all happy, especially Tom because he got
shot in his calf
tom is in pain and bleeding, aned jim decides that he will take the risk of
bringing tom to a doctor
Tom at first objects but then he says that Huck must …. and make the doctor swear never to ….
blindfold the doctor; say anything
tom also says for huck to give the doctor … and lead him the canoe but to take his
gold; chalk from him
in the meantime, jim must hide in the bushes when he sees the
doctor
