tom and huck get a tin pan to bake the
witch pie in
they find shingle nails and they steal it because tom thinks that it’s good for a prisoner to
write on the walls with
they put one of the nails in sally’s apron pocket and another in the
band of Silas’s hat
tom puts the pewter spoon in Silas’s
coat pocket
when sally arrives for breakfast she is furious because she can’t find
silas’s shirt
huck becomes so upset that he chokes on a piece of corn crust which comes up and hits
one of the children in the eye
sally’s upset because she’s going to have to make Silas another shirt and that this shirt will be the
third that she’ll make him in two years
silas replies and says that he does what he can and doesn’t see his shirts except for when they’re
on him
sally mentions that a … and … are also missing
spoon; six candles
she thinks a calf took the .. and rats took the ..
shirt; candles
silas says that it’s his fault and that he’ll close the holes that the rats use to
come into the house
a slave then comes in and says that a
sheet is missing
sally is incredulous and she claims that the world is
ending
another person comes in and says that the’res a
brass candlestick missing
silas reaches into his pocket and finds the spoona nd sally states that she expected that and asks silas how it
got there
silas is confused and doesn’t know how the spoon
got there
he states that he was sudying Acts 17 and he probably accidentally put the spoon in his pocket instead of his
testament
silas goes into the sitting room and picks up his hat and the
shingle nail falls out
tom states that they can’t send anything through
silas any longer
tom says that silas unintentionally did them a favor with the spoon and so they would do him a favor by
closing the rat holes
silas sees the rat holes closed and mumbles that he can’t remember when he did and that he couls how sally that he wasn’t to blame but that he might as well
not bother
tom insists that they need a
spoon
he sees aunt sally coming,a nd huck takes a
spoon
tom tells sally that there are only nine spoons but sally doesn’t believe him because she
counted them herself
sally counts the spoons again and they keep tricking her by adding the spoona nd
taking it away at times
Sally gets so mad that she tells the boys to leave her alone and so they have their
spoon
jim is able to get the nail and spoon from
sally’s pocket
the boys do the same trick with the …. as they did with the spoon
sheets
the boys make the witch pie and put the
rope ladder in it
huck and tom use silas’s
warming pan
when jim gets the ladder and tin plates, he hides the rope ladder inside of his … and scratches markes on the tin and throws the tin out of the
straw tick; window
