there were vilages on each side of the river and the duke and king were
planning on working them again

there’s a steamboat at shore and the king tells Huck to go toward it so that they could
come down to the village on ehr
there was a young man on a log and the king asks
where he’s going
the man says he’s going to oreleans and the king tells the man to get aboard and has huck
help him with his bags

apparently Mr. Wilks missed seeing
his brother peter die
peter wanted to see his brothers prior to his death because he hadn’t seen Mr. Wilks for a
long time

the king basicaly interrogated the man about
peter and the wilkses

the king tells huck to get the duke and the new
carpet-bags
they find a boat from cincinnati and when the members of the boat realize that they only want to go 4 or 5 miles they become
mad
the king says that he would pay them a dollar a mile apiece and they
comply and bring them to the village
the king pretends to be peter’s brother and asks the men on the steamboat
where he lived
the king cries and the duke looks like he’s
going to cry too
one of the men on the ship tells the king about peter’s deat h and the king
continues to cry and tells the duke
huck is ashamed of the men’s
