the king and duke were creating a stage, curtain and row of candles and at night the
courthouse was fullof men
they weren’t playing romeo and juliet anymore, but instead were doing
the king’s camelopard; royal nonesuch
the king is dressed ridiculously and everyone
thinks it’s hilarious
the duke lies and says that the play would be performed for only two more nights because they are
booked in london
the people get mad that hte play is
finished
they claim that they are
sold
a man jumps on the stage as the angry crowd is going toward it and says tha tthey should make the show out to be a big deal so that the
rest of the town would be sold with them
the next night the place was packed again and they
sold the crowd the same way
the king and duke had huck and jim float the raft to the middle of the river and
hide it 2 miles below the town
the third night the place was packed again with the people who came before, and they all had
eggs and rotten cabbages
the duke and huck solip out of the stge door and go for the
raft
the king had been in the
wigwam the entire time
after they’re about 10 miles away from the village the duke and king
laugh about what they did
in total they got

when the duke and king are asleep jim says that they are just regular
rapscallions
huck just says that all kings are
like that
huck says that henry the eight ued to marry a new wife every day and then
chop off her head in the morning
huck says that henry made each of his wives tell a tale until he had 1001 tales and made a book called
Domesday book
according huck, henry wanted to bring trouble with this country and he heaved
tea in the boston harbor and wrote the Declaration
apparently, henry drowned the Duke and collared money and the king on the raft is one of the
best Huck knows of
jim doesn’t really want to deal with the
two men any longer
jim is homesick and misses his
wife and children
jim regrets the way he treated his daughter lizabeth who is four. one day he told her to shut the door but she didn’t and he
hit her, which sent her to the floor
when he came 10 minutes later he saw her crying with the door still open and he was so mad, when a wind came and slammed the door shut which
hit lizabeth and she didn’t move
jim remembers this when he hears a
whack on the bank
lizabeth was
mute and deaf
