the mob goes toward the colonel’s house and they scream to
tear down the fence
sherburn comes out with a
double-barrel gun and is calm
everyone quiets and they all
look down
sherburn laughs and makes himself out to be superior by implying that the people are
cowards
sherburn mentions that the juries are afraid to
hang murderers
he says that the crowd’s mistakes are:
they didn’t bring a man with them
they didn’t come in the dark
they only brought Buck Harkness who is merely
part of a man
he states that armies are just mobs and that they are pitiful but that mobs like the people are
beneath pitiful
the crowd
leaves
huck goes to the circus but doesn’t see ay use in
wasting his money on it
the circus was the splendidest sight that
ever was
elegant
dance
hilarious
clown
a drunk man tries to get into the ring which
mkes the show stop
the man insists on riding a horse and the people watching get made but then the ring master says that he would
let him ride
the people all laughed as the man was barely able to stay on but Huck only sees that it’s
dangerous, not funny
the man shed off seventeen suits and was actually really thin and elegant and was
able to stand on the horse
the man was actually
part of the circus
the duke and king have their show and only about 12 people show up and they all
laugh and leave early except for one boy who was sleeping
the duke then makes a new bill that states that admission costs
50 cents and that ladies/ children aren’t allowed
