Haemorrhoids - explanation of diagnosis
Common condition where swellings develop around the bottom area due to inflammation and straining.
Haemorrhoids - first-line treatment (product, how it works, how to use it)
Germoloids cream - lidocaine, works as an anaesthetic to numb the area, apply at least twice daily after each bowel movement, max 4 times per day, max 7 days
Haemorrhoids - lifestyle (6)
Good hygiene - keep area dry and clean
Pat area rather than rub
Avoid holding in stools and straining
Reduce constipation by increasing fibre in diet (wholemeal and fresh fruit)
Drink plenty of water - 2L per day

No improvement 7 days after treatment
Severe pain when going to toilet
Signs of infection - fever and pus
