Patches of yellow greasy scaly skin on scalp and face

No itching or pain

Common condition where oily crusts form on the baby’s scalp which generally disappear after 6 to 12 months
Cradle cap - cause
No known cause but may be linked to hormones and excess soil production
Cradle cap - first-line treatment (product, how it works, how to use it)
Scalp: E45 cream - emollient cream, massage onto scalp to loosen scales and wash off with shampoo
Other areas: bathe infant using E45 instead of soap

Avoid scented shampoos
Avoid over washing the area
Frequent nappy changes if in nappy region
Gently use fingers when washing area
Avoid scratching
Avoid overusing oils

No improvement after 4 weeks
Bleeding
Signs of infection (fever, pus, hot to touch)
Spread to eyelid
