Pharmacology and presentation of Glucose Gel?
A
15g Glucose Tube
Glucose Gel is a form of pure glucose (sugar) that is absorbed
quickly in the intestinal tract after ingestion. It is the principal energy
source for the body cells, with the brain particularly dependent on
normoglycaemia to function.

A
- Symptomatic Hypoglycaemia.

- DUCK

- Known allergy
- Unconscious
- Difficulty swallowing
- Children <2 years.

Cautions of Glucose Gel?
A
- NIL

Side Effects of Glucose Gel?
A
- Nausea and/or vomiting
- Diarrhoea.

Dosing Regimes of Glucose Gel?
A
-15g PO, repeat once at 15mins if BGL <4mmOL to a max of 30g

- Onset = 10 minutes
- Duration = Variable
