Globalisation can be defined as the intensification of the worldwide social relations which link distant localities in such a way that local happening are shaped by events occuring many miles away and vice versa.
Cultural Homogenisation
A process whereby as globalisation occurs, a world culture emerges which means that local cultural practices are less significant.
Cultural defence
Refer to the idea that as various groups recognise that their cultural practices may be threatned by homogensing forces, they protect and reinforce their own cultures to make sure that they remain distinct.
