- 56% of NEETs during the period July-September ‘20 were men.
- The number of unemployed young men increased by 53,000 during the period July-September ‘20.
- the ONS - 2020 found that the number of people in NEEt ( young people not engaged in education) was 11%

- MORI Found that 38% of discrimination cases filed after 2006 (when age discrimination became illegal) cited age as the reason.
- There are many high-profile cases in the media where the public have been led to believe that age is the sole reason for someone being made unemployed…
- AGE UK, found that poor people recieve poorer standards of health - 55% said poor health care standard - they are disadvantaged bc their medical needs are ignored leading them to less efficent in the work place.

1- sterotypes - the guardian article about journalist who was discriminated for being young
- IPPR state that their is a sacrity for jobs this meaning that young peope will ot have the chance to apply for certain as it would be given to older people
- Pension act of 1995 of retirment being abolished meaning there are less jobs or the youth so ther is more competition
- Minimum wage - £4.80 so youth are disadvantaged bc their labour is seen as unequal in even sectors where not much experience is required.

- Old woman face higher chances of unemployment arlene phillips
- Old people are likely to be steotyped in the work place - powell and JB priestly research, they face a disadvantage
- Age uk poor people are less likely bc of these steotypes to get medical help
- Mori case - elderly people are seen by society as unfit to work past a certain age.
