What is the advantage of having all sides of a square column form to cut the same size?
Sides are interchangeable.
What is a fibre form?
Formed using disposable cardboard tune, wax lined.
When are steel forms most useful?
They are most economical if there is the possibility for many re-uses. Steel forms give a smooth, accurate finish but are so expensive that they are only used on large jobs.
What is a capital head form?
Column capitals are used to decrease the clear span of the beam, girder, or slab that is being supported by that column.
Capital is a widening of the column at the top. It may form an upside-down cone or a pyramid shape.
When hand-setting forms, how high are they usually set?
1/2 inch lower, so that they can be set to spec height with shims afterwards
