What are the 4 different classes of fires?
Class A = Ordinary combustibles, wood ,paper, trash, plastics etc... Class B = Flammable liquid or gas Class C = Electrical fires Class D = Metal fires
For what type of fires should a Water Extinguisher be used?
Only for Class A fires
For what types of fires should a BCF (Halon 1211) extinguisher be used?
Class A, B and C
What extinguisher should be used for Class D fires?
Dry Powder
How many fire bottles are there for the Cargo compartments?
Six, two rapid discharge bottles and four metered bottles that discharges after 20 min
What happens when the Equipment Cooling system is configured to override
It draws air through the flight deck panels and into the E/E equipment bay and then is vented overboard. This aids with smoke evacuation from the flightdeck
How are fires in a lavatory extinguished?
Automatically from an extinguisher in the waste bin
Where can fire BCF and Water extinguishers be found in the aircraft?
BCF at all doors except R2, R3 and R4 where there are Water extinguishers
At what door can you find a Fire Sock?
L3 and the cockpit
