At least twice a year or as needed.
Advanced cleaning of bunker gear requires what?
Taking the gear temporarily out of service.
An individuals responsibility and can be accomplished by hand washing the gear in a sink or using an extractor at a fire station.
How should advanced cleaning be done
Should be conducted by using the department’s extractors.
When bunker gear needs to be sent to an independent service provider (ISP) for advanced cleaning and/or repair, personnel shall complete what form?
A “Bunker Gear Cleaning and Repair” form.
Personnel should notify who prior to gear drop off?
Logistics Captain to ensure bunker gear is processed for pick up.

-contaminated gear
-yearly scheduled cleaning (to be coordinated through the Battalion Chiefs and the Logistics Captain
-Extremely heavy exposure to products of incomplete combustion.
Who has access into the bunker gear storage room for bunker gear that needs to be acquired outside normal business hours or in the event that Logistics personnel are not available?
Shift Battalion Chiefs.
Bunker gear that has been rendered unserviceable or expired shall be marked what?
O.O.S. In a conspicuous area indicating the item is out of service.
When can personnel use expired Bunker Gear?
During physical fitness activities only.
