What happens if a company member is down, missing or trapped?
The other company members shall immediately provide direct help and/or call a mayday.
What are personnel responsible for maintaining at all times?
- The correct unit helmet shield
- Their PAT’s on the UIP’s in the upright position
What is a UIP?
Unit Identification Placard
Individuals assigned or detailed to other divisions such as Fire Prevention, Training, etc. must have what for that division?
Helmet shield
Where shall all helmet shields be kept?
On the dash board or on the officer’s door of the unit when not on a helmet of on duty personnel.
What must be done BEFORE members are allowed to participate as a company?
Helmet Shields shall be placed on the helmet
PAT placed on each of the two UIP’s
Where is the primary passport kept?
Under the brim of the officer’s helmet
Where is the backup passport kept?
On the dashboard of the apparatus
Where are remaining PATs kept?
Under the brim of the helmet
When shall IC conduct an emergency roll call using the PAS?
- Firefighter or company is presumed to be or has been reported as down, missing, or trapped
- Significant incident event occurs (ex: roof or building collapse, explosion)
- Mode changes from offensive to defensive
- Command determines a need.
