Chytrid. TEM of zoospores: flagella, kinetosome props, terminal plate in the axoneme core, mitochondria with plate-like cristae

Tissue from a parrot. Most likely etiology and distinguishing features. Which component is infectious?
A
Chlamydia psittaci; TEM features are the elementary, reticulate an intermediate bodies. Elementary bodies are infectious, RB are not. Create inclusion body like colonies.
- EB: dense peripheral nucleoid, smaller, round
- RB: larger, “hourglass” from binary fission
- IB: central dense core, radial fibers, granules in periphery

A
Trichomonas. Axostyle is the dotted line. H is a hydrogenosome. N are the nuclei. G is glucogen granules.
