Circumvallate, fungiform, filiform

Neuroepithelial cells on the inside, supporting cells on the outside

What are the layers of teeth out to in? What makes the first two layers?
Enamel(ameloblasts), dentin(odontoblasts), pulp
Basic tube layers in to out?
Lumen, mucosa(epithelia, lamina propria, muscularis mucosa), submucosa(vessels and nerves), external muscle( inner circular, outer longitudinal)
Esophagus main points?
Stratified squamous cells. Cardiac glands in propria. Esophageal glands in submucosa. Above diaphragm is adventitia
Stomach important facts?
Three very thick layers of externus muscularis. Gastric and mucous glands.
What is the purpose of chief cells and parietal cells in the stomach?
Chief cells darker and make pepsinogen, parietal lighter and make HCl and intrinsic factor
What is the primary form of epithelium in the small intestine?
Columnar absorptive cells with microvilli
What are paneth cells, and where are they?
In small intestine crypts. Red staining antibacterial producing.
What are the three special cells in the three small intestine parts? What do they do?
Duodenum has brunners glands, secrete alkaline. Jejunum has plicae circulares, big rings. Ileum has Peyers patches, lymphocytes. 1 and 3 in submucosa
What are m cells?
Pass antigens to B cells in large intestinal lamina
Large intestine purpose and cells?
Absorbs water, lots of goblet cells. Lymphatic nodules in lamina
What does the appendix have?
Germinal centers
Explain the big point of the enteric nervous system?
Self contained, can run on its own
