Blood Development Flashcards
When is the yolk sac phase?
3 weeks to 3 months. Blood islets. Nucleated
Hepatic phase of blood making?
Second trimester, anucleated
Bone marrow phase of blood formation?
4 th month on. Anucleated
What two lineages do hematopoietic stem cells make?
Myeloid and lymphoid. Can be used in marrow grafting.
How do RBCs leave marrow?
Via endothelial sinusoids in bone
What factors do hematopoietic stem cells need to function?
ScF, CXCLI2, G-CSF, made by stromal cells
What is erythroblastic island?
RBC types around macrophage, which eats spit out nucleus
Steps of RBC making?
Basilophilic( giant nucleus, very blue, much ribosomes), polychromatophilic( gray blue clumpy), orthochromatophilic( dark nucleus, tan cyto), reticulocyte( organelles no nucleus), RBC
Steps in granulocyte maturation?
Promyelocyte(nucleus same color as granules), myelocyte(new granule color), metamyelocyte(dented nucleus), band, mature.
Megakaryocte look?
Large, polyploid
Do most cells mature in marrow?
No, mostly periphery
