What must you do when declaring an ATTACK ability?
Pick targets for all attacks.
What are the targeting restrictions for a unit in combat?
It can only attack units it is in combat with and that are visible to it.
What is required for a combat attack?
The target must be within the attacking model’s combat range.
What is required for a shooting attack?
The target must be visible and within the weapon’s Range.
Can a unit make shooting attacks while in combat?
No, unless otherwise specified.
What is the effect of critical hits?
They have no effect on their own but often trigger additional effects.
How can you keep track of damage points?
Place dice next to the target units.
What is the first step in the attack sequence?
Hit Roll: Roll a dice. If the roll equals or exceeds the attacking weapon’s Hit characteristic, the attack scores a successful hit.
What happens if the hit roll fails?
The attack fails and the attack sequence ends.
What is the second step in the attack sequence?
Wound Roll: Roll a dice. If the roll equals or exceeds the attacking weapon’s Wound characteristic, the attack successfully wounds.
What happens if the wound roll fails?
The attack fails and the attack sequence ends.
What is the third step in the attack sequence?
Save Roll: The target unit’s commander rolls a dice, subtracting the attacking weapon’s Rend characteristic from the roll.
What happens if the save roll fails?
The attack succeeds and moves on to the next step.
What is the fourth step in the attack sequence?
Determine Damage: The attack inflicts damage points equal to the weapon’s Damage characteristic.
What happens after completing the attack sequence?
You can move on to the damage sequence.
