What is the deployment phase?
The deployment phase is a special phase where players deploy their armies, occurring once per battle before the start of the first battle round.
What is the first step in the deployment phase?
The first step is to deploy faction terrain features using DEPLOY TERRAIN abilities, starting with the player who begins deployment.
What is the second step in the deployment phase?
The second step is to deploy armies, where players alternate using DEPLoY abilities, starting with the player who begins deployment.
What happens if one player runs out of DEPLoY abilities?
If one player has no more DEPLoY abilities, their opponent must continue using DEPLoY abilities until they also have none left.
What is the third step in the deployment phase?
The third step is to use Deployment Phase abilities that are not DEPLOY or DEPLOY TERRAIN abilities, starting with the player who began deployment.

DEPLOY UNIT allows you to declare a unit from your army roster that has not been deployed to take to the field.

DEPLOY REGIMENT allows you to pick a regiment from your army roster that has not been deployed and set it up wholly within friendly territory, more than 9” from enemy territory.
What is the effect of the DEPLOY REGIMENT ability?
The effect is that you can keep using DEPLoY abilities without alternating until all units in that regiment have been deployed.
What is the DEPLOY FACTION TERRAIN ability?
DEPLOY FACTION TERRAIN allows you to declare a friendly faction terrain feature that has not been deployed and set it up wholly within friendly territory, more than 3” from all objectives and other terrain features.
