Contraindications for lumbar puncture
A
- ↑ICP – evidenced on clinical exam (ie. papilledema) and CT
- skin/soft tissue infections over puncture site
- bleeding diatheses, use of anticoagulants (ie. Warfarin) with INR >1.4
- suspected spinal cord or intracranial mass lesions
- vertebral deformities
- unstable respiratory or haemodynamic status
