What type and % collagen is there in submucosa?
How does collagen production differ in gastric healing compared to other healing tissues?
Submucosa: Type I collagen 68%,
Type III collagen 20%
type V 12%
Other healing tissues: collagen only produced by fibroblasts
In Gastric healing: Collagen also produced by smooth muscle cells
How specific and sensitive is lactate in predicting gastric necrosis in dogs with GDV
> 7.4 lactate 88% specific and 50% sensitive for gastric necrosis; 82% accurate for predicting gastric necrosis.
Can base excess/deficits predict gastric necrosis
Base excess may provide a marker of hypoperfusion. Plasma lactate is a good predictor of gastric necrosis and outcome. Base excess should not be used for prediction of gastric necrosis or outcome.
Blood supply to the greater curvature of the stomach
Left and right gastroepiploic
Blood supply of the pylorus and pyloric antrum
Right gastric artery
Blood supply of the fundus of the stomach
Left gastric artery
Blood supply of the lesser curvature of the stomach
Left and right gastric artery
