Describe the different open fracture classifications
A
Type I: Usually inside out
wound < 1cm
Mild to moderate bruising
Type II: Outside in
Wound > 1cm without major soft tissue damage
Type III: Extensive soft tissue damage
Type IIIA: Adequate soft tissue coverage
Type IIIB: Extensive soft tissue loss, periosteal stripping, and bone exposure
Type IIIC: Arterial injury requiring repair
