Always being prepared, always being professional whether you are compensated or not, never accepting complacency, and always doing the job for which you took an oath to the highest level.

- The area you serve- can your apparatus handle the fires in your area?
- The citizens you serve- know the citizens that you serve
- The skills and abilities of your members- The foundation of our success will always be in the training we perform every day. FFers must know how to handle the equipment on the Unit and expected incidents for that territory.

- Use the kitchen table and look over the real estate section to learn about up coming developments and examples of homes in the area.
- Territory familiarization, drive your territory and get out of the apparatus look at building construction, plan methods of attack

If you cant explain why you have a tool or hose load on your apparatus, it could be a sign that you are not training enough to know the answer or that it is time for that item to go.

What does the blueprint of success start with (apparatus)?
It starts with a basic foundation for your equipment and then builds up. Begin your combat ready apparatus blueprint by defining the scope of what you want your apparatus to do.
