Why is having a policy for Mayday so important?
Without a policy in place, the fire service cannot expect compliance because there is nothing to tangible with which to comply.
This dangerous proposition leaves the most important message you may ever deliver to chance. Not a good option when er are talking about the life of a firefighter.

the key element is to have (a communication plan) something. A foundation to an effective fire ground is develop a successful blueprint, and one of the building blocks is communication.
