What was New England’s economy based on and why?
Ship building, trading, industrialization, lumber, whaling, and fishing were all important factors that NE’s economy was based on. They did this because their growing season was short and they had harsh weather.
This is an area where rivers descended from high elevation to a lower one, causing waterfalls.
