- blanching with slow capillary refill
- loss of pinprick sensation
- 3 wks, large wounds managed surgically

- epidermis, dermis, some subcutaneus tissue
- leathery, eschar, dry rigid
- loss of pain, temp, pressure sensations
- 4 wks (>3wks)
- require surgery, may result in contractures
