A

-with a fine comb
-12-3days for up to 2-3 weeks, assess for dead lice

-machine wash bedding, clothes
-soak combs/brushes in hot water 5-10 min
-vacuum area where pt has been
-children do not have to be kept out of school after undergoing tx
